New York, NY - Alabama, Florida State and Ohio State -- the lone unbeaten teams from power conferences -- are the top three teams in the latest Associated Press college football poll. Baylor had been a member of that club before a 49-17 pasting at the hands of Oklahoma State on Saturday. Alabama, as it has been all season, resides at the top. The Crimson Tide, after a 49-0 romp over Chattanooga on Saturday, received 56 first-place votes -- one more than last week -- and a total of 1,496 points from a nationwide media panel. Florida State lost one No. 1 tally from last week, but held firmly at No. 2 with four first-place votes. The Seminoles also had it easy this week with an 80-14 pounding of Idaho and will close the regular season next Saturday against a floundering Florida team before the ACC title game on Dec. 7. Ohio State, which still hasnt lost under Urban Meyer, moved up one spot to third after Baylors loss. The Buckeyes were 42-14 winners over Indiana on Saturday and will face arch-rival Michigan next Saturday in the Big House before facing Michigan State for the Big Ten title. Auburn, meanwhile, moved up two spots to fourth, setting up next Saturdays showdown with Alabama in the annual Iron Bowl. In addition to it being a huge rivalry, the winner at Jordan-Hare Stadium will also advance to the SEC Championship Game. Missouri is also in line for a berth in the SEC title game as winner of the East Division, if the Tigers can beat Texas A&M next Saturday. Missouri moved up three spots from eighth to fifth. Clemson, Oklahoma State, Stanford, Baylor and South Carolina complete this weeks top 10. Oklahoma State vaulted four spots from 11th after its resounding win over Baylor, while Stanford moved up two spots from 10th after a 63-13 thumping of arch-rival Cal gave the Cardinal a berth in the Pac-12 title game. The second 10 consists of Michigan State, Oregon, Arizona State, Wisconsin, LSU, Fresno State, UCF, Northern Illinois, Texas A&M and Oklahoma. Oregon tumbled seven spots from fifth after a stunning loss at Arizona, while Arizona State, which claimed the Pac-12 South title with a 38-33 win over UCLA, rose six places from 19th and Texas A&M dipped 10 spots from ninth after its 34-10 loss at LSU. Fresno State and Northern Illinois are the other unbeaten teams left in major college football. The Bulldogs actually dropped a spot from 15th, while the Huskies moved up two from 20th. Both are still vying for a BCS bowl berth. Louisville, UCLA, Southern California, Duke and Notre Dame are the last five teams ranked this week. UCLA dropped eight spots from 14th after its home loss to the Sun Devils. Notre Dame is the lone newcomer, replacing Ole Miss. The Fighting Irish are ranked for a third different time this year and are back after a two-week absence. The Rebels, ranked for four weeks in September, had just a one-week stay this time around at No. 24 after falling to Missouri on Saturday. Next weeks ranked matchups, in addition to the SEC clashes between Alabama and Auburn and Texas A&M and Missouri, include Clemson at South Carolina, Notre Dame at Stanford and the annual USC-UCLA battle at the Coliseum. John Kelly Rams Jersey .J. -- Kevin Gilbride retired Thursday as offensive co-ordinator for the New York Giants. TORONTO -- The Toronto Maple Leafs paid a price to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. Starting goaltender Jonathan Bernier suffered a lower-body injury Thursday as the Leafs went on to beat the Boston Bruins 4-3 in overtime. Bernier left the game at 8:22 of the third period favouring his left leg after Leafs defenceman Paul Ranger pushed Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron on top of Torontos goalie. Ranger was assessed a minor penalty for interference on the play and Bernier was replaced by James Reimer, who made 10 saves to record his 12th win of the season. "We were just kind of spinning around, pushing each other in front and he was looking for position," said Ranger of the battle with Bergeron. "I was pushing him around, next thing you know, I just pushed him and he was on top of (Bernier). "I want (Bernier) to be on the ice and on our team. We need him. Hes a key part of us. I hope that everything is OK. I dont know whats going to happen here." Leafs coach Randy Carlyle announced post-game that Bernier would undergo a MRI on Friday. Carlyle declined to say if his starter aggravated a groin injury suffered on Mar. 13 in the Leafs 3-2 win at Los Angeles. "Some times these things happen in hockey," said Ranger. "I just talked to (Bernier), he understands, these things happen some times." Bernier missed five games with the groin injury as the Leaffs went on an 0-5-0 slide while Reimer, who started all five games, posted a 4.dddddddddddd22 goals-against average and a .871 save percentage. "When you see a teammate go off accompanied by the training staff, its not good," said Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf. "You feel for him. Hes done so much for our team and hes such a big part of our team. Its a big loss. When we lose him to injury there it was definitely a blow to our team but Reims came in and did a great job for us." Bernier isnt the only health concern with the Maple Leafs as forward Joffrey Lupul did not play Thursday night. Lupul, according to the Leafs, suffered a lower-body injury while playing 18 minutes 32 seconds in the teams 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames on Tuesday. Lupul was replaced by David Clarkson on the teams second unit power play during the teams morning skate Thursday and was the first player off the ice. Lupul received treatment on Wednesday and then again on Thursday, but was deemed not ready for the game against the Bruins. Carlyle called Lupul doubtful for Saturday when Toronto plays host to the Winnipeg Jets. Lupul missed seven games with a groin injury suffered in the Leafs 6-0 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Nov. 25. With the injury to Lupul, the Leafs recalled forward Carter Ashton from the AHLs Toronto Marlies, but he was a healthy scratch in the win over the Bruins.
