Is Madden NFL 21 Still Growing Out?

Madden NFL 21 is EA's most up-to-date entry in the franchise. Madden games are like birthdays - there's one every year. But this year isn't like the others. Of spreading the virus to others because worries and of COVID-19, major sports associations postponed or have canceled their seasons. Even the Olympic Games are transferred to next year. Now, with NFL games slated to start in early September, the notion of cancelling the entire year remains being sailed around. Thus, what does this mean for the NFL's official video game collection?

Thus far, there have not been any significant flaws for the game. Madden NFL 21 is set to release on August 25, 2020, on the cover with Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. It had been revealed that the 2019 NFL MVP could appear on the cover back in April, but because of the pandemic, a photo shoot for the cover could not happen. Rather the game features stock photographs courtesy of the group's photography team, of Jackson. It's a hurdle to overcome, compared to the challenges that the game has faced.

If an international pandemic was not enough, Madden NFL 21 has been bogged down by disagreements and negative criticism. The game was intended to be showcased on June 1st, but has been delayed by the company in solidarity with the George Floyd protests and Black Lives Matter movement. Once the trailer aired, fans were angry that there seemed to be no changes from Madden entries. The majority of these attributes were met with disappointment and indifference, although Subsequently, EA was quick to show off some new attributes on media.

However, this past year, EA plowed ahead to release the game. Less than a week after, EA said they were working on an upgrade to remove the preceding Washington soccer moniker in the game and are utilizing a temporary, generic name for Washington's group for the time being. Once Washington receives a brand new official name for their team, it'll likely be patched in at a later date.

Despite all these controversies and changes, EA remains set to launch Madden NFL 21 at the end of August. Following those consoles release this holiday season, next-gen variations of this game will appear for Xbox Series X and PS5.
